UCLA Biomedical Research Institute Certifies and Approves encloudHDfor Medical Streaming

Professional Grade Live Streaming Made Simple.

VANCOUVER, BC / Los Angeles, CA – Nov. 13, 2012 – LA BioMed, at Harbor-UCLA, Biomedical Research Institute Certifies Vancouver’s Libre Communications as Approved Streaming Media Solution.

Libre Communications, which develops and sells the encloudHD encoding and streaming solution, has been selected as an approved vendor by one of the largest and most renowned medical research institutes in the world.
According to Viktor Eysselien MD, Chief, Division Gastroenterology, “After determining that high resolution, absolute security and broadcast reliability were “mission critical”, we chose Libre’s encloudHD solution as our preferred internet streaming partner. Their solution is simple to operate, delivers exceptional results and just plain works!”
LA BioMed is a research and teaching affiliate of the California University system. It is actively involved in teaching about one-half of UCLA’s medical students and conducting extensive worldwide collaborative research. The institute has an annual budget of over $73 million and supports more than 140 investigators conducting over 1,000 research studies in areas such as emerging infections, cancer, women’s health, male reproductive health, vaccine research, neonatology, autoimmune diseases, cardiology, neurosurgery, and genetics.
Libre provides a complete “end-to-end”, high definition internet broadcasting experience to the education, healthcare and corporate clients. Its encloudHD encoding boxes enable from one to many cameras to be attached at remote locations and then streamed live globally, via its cloud-based network. The ability to secure every stream, present Pay-Per-View, course-based content or the highest quality of demonstration within the medical community was a major factor in LA BioMed’s decision.

“It is important for us to utilize Libre’s technology in order to lead the way in our international collaboration with medical research organizations and the many students at our locations and in partner organizations”, explained Dr.Eysselien.“We would like to stream events, courses and research presentations securely and economically and encloudHD provides a perfect platform.”

“Libre more than met our standards. Libre’s encloudHD system’s ease of use, absolute reliability and exceptional security will allow every department to feel comfortable with setting up and managing live and on-demand content. This forms a major step forward in our ability to share our work and educate a rapidly expanding international, and local, network of students.”

Phil Nerland, Libre’s CEO, sees this relationship as a milestone in the company’s growth. “We recently streamed Hull University’s (in the UK) three-day International Sustainability conference and are now excited to start working with LA BioMed. encloudHD is a leap-forward in both streaming and viewing events and other video streaming applications. We are experiencing a rapid uptake and thank LA BioMed for their commitment.”
